Before joining Street Connect, my life was in a difficult place.

I had separated from my wife, was moving in and out of homeless accommodation, and was struggling with addiction to diazepam and heroin.

Then I reconnected with Lee Gow, a Street Connect staff member I had grown up with. He invited me to a recovery group he was leading, which led me to Kairos Church in Stirling. That became a turning point that changed my life.

Through being part of the church, I stopped taking drugs and my family life began to heal. In December 2023, I gave my life to Jesus.

While I was part of the church, Laura Caldwell—who also works with Street Connect—shared in the church WhatsApp group that Street Connect were looking for a new Projects Worker. I felt strongly that God was prompting me to go for it, so I applied.

I started working with Street Connect on 14 May 2025, and I have been so blessed since joining the team.

Being part of Street Connect means a lot to me. Having experienced some of the challenges that many of the people we support are facing, I understand how difficult those situations can be. It is a privilege to now be in a position where I can help and support others on their own journeys.

My story is one of second chances, faith, and the power of people who take the time to care.
