After the success of our training days in 2016 – where we had the fortune of long time street outreach veteran Stephen Webster training us over 2 weekends. Street Connect are pleased to announce that due to the recent growth in our work and an ever expanding volunteer base, we decided it was time to develop our own training program with the first edition of this being a full day of training on Saturday the 10th of June, 9.30am to 4.30pm, in Cafe Connect: 348 Cathedral Street, Glasgow, G1 2BQ.
We have a full day and a packed programme – with breakfast, lunch, refreshments, testimony and more…
The training will be tailored for the Street Connect staff and volunteering community, as we seek to deliver a company strategy that meets the needs and challenges of working with some of Glasgow’s most disadvantaged and marginalised people, in some of it’s poorest areas.
The training will not only be informative and equipping for existing staff and volunteers, but it will give anyone interested in volunteering with Street Connect the chance to come along and hear our practices and values, before starting volunteering with us.
Going forward, the training program will be run every 3-6 months and will be mandatory for all new and current staff/volunteers to have completed the program in order to volunteer with Street Connect. We want all our team to be well equipped and as best prepared as possible for to best serve those with whom we work.
