I was grateful recently to be able to share encouragement and pray over our nation on Premier Christian Radio.

I wanted to share my message and prayer with you in the hopes that this may be of encouragement if you or loved ones are facing issues in relation to the addiction epidemic. If you are a supporter and not sure how to pray for the people we work with, or know where to start I hope this can be of help.

Even though we can see with the statistics falling by 22% in the first half of 2022, we know the number of drug related fatalities are still very high in comparison to the rest of Europe. At Street Connect we aim to meet people where they are at in their recovery journey, helping them with the next steps towards a hopeful future in recovery. (link on new website to how we can help)

With Street Connect, I believe we are called to make an impact. As it says in the book of Esther 4:14 we are called for such a time as this, to be a light and to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We all have a purpose, ours is to reach out to those in the addiction community.

We are hopeful and praying for the death statistics to fall as we approach the new year 2023 and beyond. For more people to know God personally and eventually share their testimony with others of how their life has been changed.

Man, Fog, Silhouette, Kneeling, Kneel

Please join me in prayer for the following:

  • For God to raise people with a heart to tackle drug addiction and the impact on our society, for them to contribute and / or serve where they feel led.
  • For the organisations who exist to face this problem head on, and who provide support and resources for those who need support.
  • For those who have lost loved ones to addiction, and for those who are in their recovery journey.

During times of challenges, trials and sorrow it can often be difficult for us to find the strength to keep going.

But the good news is that God doesn’t want us to face our challenges and burdens alone and He cares for us greatly.

1 Peter 5:7 says “cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”

God bless,

Ricky
