Creating a Place of Hope, Healing and Community
At Street Connect, we believe recovery is about more than overcoming addiction. It’s about rebuilding confidence, rediscovering purpose, and finding connection with others.
That’s why we’re creating the Govan Transformation Garden — a welcoming outdoor space that is being designed, built and cared for by participants in our Aftercare programme throughout Spring and Summer 2026.
This isn’t simply a gardening project. It’s a place where transformation happens.
Every week, men and women rebuilding their lives after addiction are working together to clear, build, plant and develop the garden. As they care for the space, they’re also rebuilding confidence, developing practical skills, forming healthy relationships and discovering renewed hope for the future.
For many participants, recovery can feel isolating. The garden provides a safe and positive environment where people can work alongside others, experience the satisfaction of creating something meaningful and contribute to their local community.
A Garden for the Whole Community
Once completed, the Govan Transformation Garden will become a welcoming space where local people can enjoy nature, connect with others and find a place of peace and rest in the heart of the community.
The garden will include:
- Beautiful planting and growing areas
- Comfortable seating and relaxation spaces
- Wildlife-friendly habitats
- Picnic and community gathering areas
- A welcoming green space for people of all ages
Our hope is that the garden will be enjoyed not only by Street Connect participants, but by local residents, families, churches and community groups for years to come.
