We are delighted to announce that we are beginning a partnership with Cornerstone Drop-in in Paisley! We will be joining with them from Thursday 24th May 2018 from 10am-4pm and every Thursday thereafter. This exciting new partnership is our second venture outside of Glasgow, following our Clydebank drop in which started in April 2018, and shows again the continued growth of Street Connect as we seek to offer hope and opportunity of improvement to the disadvantaged and marginalised in society.
Our partnership with Cornerstone Drop-in sees us link up with this long-established organisation and Street Connect staff and volunteers will join the existing experienced team there. The drop-in is held every Thursday from 10am – 4pm at Holy Trinity Church, Bishops Court, Back Sneddon Street, Paisley PA3 2AF.
Cornerstone Drop-in started, approximately, in 2004 and was the vision of two people, with lived experience of overcoming life-controlling challenges, who wanted to help others who faced similar challenges to know something of the release from their life-controlling issues through listening, befriending and sharing the love of Jesus. Moving to the current building in 2011 they now provide tea/coffee and light food (toast, biscuits, etc.) from 10-11.45am and a full meal lunch from 12pm, with tea/coffee and biscuits available again after 1pm.
All at Street Connect are extremely excited by this partnership and are looking to further grow the range
of services on offer with the possibility of 1-2-1 and Group Support. We hope to build on the existing team of dedicated volunteers, with the aim to grow and develop the work through time.
If you would like to join our volunteer team we would love to hear from you, please contact us for more information: [email protected]
