Before coming to Street Connect, I didn’t have any direction in my life. Not knowing where I wanted to be in say a month or so. I was homeless for 4 years, going in and out of shelters surrounded by people who were in addiction and temptation. I felt like I used to be in “self-destruct” mode.
Since coming to Street Connect, I finally know who I want to be for the rest of my life. I feel like I can make achievable goals as I take the next steps for my future and meeting with my support worker Martin on a regular basis. I now have a home and this alone has helped to change my mindset.
I have hopes for the future. Sobriety is something I know I must achieve, as this will allow other channels to open for my future. For example I hope to see my kids, gain employment again, save for driving lessons and create healthy and stable relationships with others.
I am now gaining self worth within myself, something I have struggled with since I was a teenager. Since coming to Street Connect I see my value.
Please pray for Christopher as he works on his relationship with his kids, seeking employment and his journey to sobriety.
